A Name on the Stadium and a Team in the Community
In 2006, we announced our name would grace LP Field, home stadium for the Tennessee Titans and Tennessee State University. We thought, “What better way to promote community involvement than to celebrate our new alliance with the Titans with joint community efforts?”
To kick off our new alliance with the NFL team, LP donated building materials to a Habitat affiliate in each city where the Titans played away games in 2006. In both 2006 and 2007, LP and the Titans each donated $100 per Titans point scored in the stadium toward an LP/Titans Habitat house in Nashville. Titans staff and cheerleaders joined LP employees to build the homes.
LP also contributed $100 in scholarship funds per point scored by TSU in the stadium to Tennessee State University in 2006 and 2007. LP has donated 1000 seats for youth from Boys and Girls Clubs and Big Brothers Big Sisters to attend games.
The Titans fans love to see our Habitat families on the Jumbotron as they’re introduced on the field. And fans donate generously on Titans LP Pencil Box Day, giving thousands of dollars worth of school supplies for LP Pencil Box, a free school supply store for children in need in Nashville Metro schools. Now that’s teamwork!
