Hayward LSS Project Helps Win Business Friend of the Environment Award
Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce recognized our Hayward, Wis., mill’s wood use reduction efforts, selecting the mill for the 2007 Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment.
LP Hayward was one of nine businesses selected from among 41 nominees.
The program cited was the result of a Lean Six Sigma project that helped reduce the amount of white wood used at the mill by about 6 percent. From May 2006 through January 2007, the Hayward program resulted in a reduction of more than 7,100 cords of wood used at the mill.
