Involvement
LP is committed to building sustainable communities in the places where our employees and customers live and work. That means building good relationships with our neighbors. Sharing our time and expertise. And providing contributions of products and cash that provide shelter and services for neighbors in need, enrich education for children in our communities, and protect the environment.
At several facilities, we sponsor Community Advisory Councils that help us stay connected to our neighbors and community. These forums have covered a wide range of topics over the years including economic development, environmental management, noise abatement, traffic control, employment, forestry practices, and charitable contributions. Two of these facilities maintain local community web sites: East River, Nova Scotia at www.compostinglpeastriver.ca and Swan Valley, Manitoba at www.swanvalleyforest.ca.
With LP sponsorship and support, our employees across the U.S., Canada and Chile love to get together to give back. We build Habitat for Humanity homes, clean up beaches, tutor in schools and teach kids how to take better care of our environment. We serve on charity boards, as well as volunteer for fire departments and search and rescue teams.
